Aunjanue Ellis
Aunjanue The. Ellis Taylor, American actor and producer. She holds a BA in African-American Studies from Brown University and an MFA in acting from the Tisch School of Arts New York University. Aunjanue Ellis is an American actor and producer who is active in theater, film and television. She started acting on stage before appearing in mainstream, independent as well as television shows. The actress gained fame as Miranda Shaw on ABC's Quantico and appeared on the epic BET series The Book of Negroes for which she received not just praise from critics but also numerous nominations and awards, including the Television Critics Choice Award nomination for Best Actress in a Film. She began her career as an actress in 1995, when she appeared as Ariel as Ariel in The Tempest. On Broadway she's appeared in Come and Gone A Winter's Tale Seeking the Genesis and Joe Turner's Come and Gone. Her film work is highlighted by her performances on Men of Honor The Caveman's Valentine The Express, and The Help. Her role on television on ABC's drama series about police High Incident has earned her the praise of her fellow actors.
